After months on the road and a little time for rest, we are now starting to edit the hundreds of hours of interviews. As I go along, I will update all of you on what we have learned from the voices of those who have lived the experience. Randy Bezeau Director.

There has to be a greater focus on prevention. As apposed to going in and just apprehending Indigenous children. More worrisome today is that the policy of the province is shifting. Once children are in the Ministry’s care, they are then moved towards adoption. it’s a very insidious deceitful move on the part of the Province because their strategic goal as reflected in their strategic plans is to reduce the number of children in care. They don’t mention the fact that one of the ways they are doing this is by increasing adoptions And so we have called on a moratorium on adoptions in BC that the government has ignored. And still today many of our children get adopted out to the United States and to Europe and this makes it very difficult to repatriate those children back into their families and communities.
